One-time recipient of a Canada Council first novel grant and a professional writer and translator for 15 years in various capacities, Rose is using her time at San Cresci to develop and prepare a series of short stories for publication.

Her core interest lies in exploring how people come to terms with physical, cultural and psychological alienation and isolation.
