The artwork will be a sculpture made from five large logs, installed indoors inside of a large skylight. The sculpture will appear to be strung up with a thousand thin white polyester strings, which together carry its weight and stretch out into the room beneath. Work with the installation will commence at distance during my residency, planning structural elements of the building and doing other arrangements. 

During my stay at La Macina di San Cresci I also study themes of safety and feelings of safety in an unfamiliar setting. It is part of a longer project which I am working on until the end of 2009. The work will consist of wood sculpture installations and processed sound recordings, and will be presented in two joint exhibitions with Sini Björkholm in 2010.
