Christina Zurhausen was born in West Germany, the Ruhr Valley. Since over ten years she lives now in Cologne, where she began to study jazzguitar at Hochschule fur Musik und Tanz Koln and where she's now working as a freelancer guitarist and composer. She continued her studies at Musikhochschule Osnabruck, where she degreed her Bachelor of Arts for Jazzguitar in 2014. There she studied with Frank Wingold, Joachim Schonecker, Philipp van Endert and Angelika Niescier. Also she was visiting a lot of masterclasses and workshops for example of Philipp Catherine, Lionel Loueke, Christian McBride, Dave Liebman and Kurt Rosenwinkel. 2014-2018 Christina joined in Peter Herbolzheimer

European Masterclass Big Band, led by John Ruocco and Erik van Lier. In her youth she was interested in Punk, Rock and Grungemusic. Heroes were bands like Nirvana, Slime, The Doors and Rage Against The Machine, until she listened

coincidentalyl to jazzguitarist John Abercrombie. It was love by first listening. By now the passion for Jazz music grew. Musicians like Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, John Scofield, Bill Frisell or John Coltrane were new companions. Christina is very busy as a guitarist and composer. 2015 she found her Jazz Grunge Quartett „Ausfahrt“. Here she combines her former Rock and Grunge heroes with the free spirit of improvisation of Jazz. Catchy melodies, energetic improvisations, aggressive riffs,and an expressive sound are the bands characteristics. The Release of the Debutalbum „Vergessene Moglichkeiten“ was in 2018, the second album „The End Of The World“ was released on Unit Records on July, 2021. Furthermore Christina is a member in the Trio „By The Way“ with famous pianist Frank Wunsch and singer Emese Muhl and a member of „Endgegner“, a videogame Jazzband. You can listen to Christina in several bands, and she also loves it to meet spontaneously with other musicians and creates music of the moment. Interests here are always freedom,the development of her sound and language, to set a musical and expressive contribution to the world.
