La Macina di San Cresci

“Artists are interesting creatures. We can be obsessive, dedicated, spirited and single minded in our pursuit for that perfect realisation of our art. We tend to be outsiders and are often that square peg in the round hole, so when you find an oasis like San Cresci you hold on tight -- for it’s that sense of belonging which welcomes you.”

I am a visual artist, with an emphasis on the fine arts in painting and sculpting.
Born and raised in Namibia, lived in South Africa and currently residing in London, I hold a Diploma in probs and prosthetic fabrication for the art department for film and media.
I have worked for numerous advertisements, film series and movies, which include film series like black sails and kings of prophets.
I also hold a certificate for photoshop, Illustrator and indesign by the University of the arts London.
I have taken part in art competitions, including the prestigious BP portrait award based in South Africa, were I qualified in the top 40 finalist.
In my work, the focus is on nature and animals and human portraits. My emphasis is on craftsmanship. Every artwork approached to reach the inevitable perfection. The mediums used for painting is acrylics or watercolour.Watercolour specifically because of the soft colours, like the colours of a faded old photograph. The emphasis is to capture the light, the colours and the emotion.
