Frankie Morgan charts the forces of change in the world and in herself. She digs into the familiar and mundane in order to question what we value as a society.
As a painter she is fascinated by the invisible forces exerted upon humans in daily urban life. Morgan seeks to excavate both the urban world and the canvas as an artist's work site. A site in which to dig deep into the experience of existence.
Morgan's playful palette revels in the wonder of life. Her curious, loose line in gouache, graphite, watercolour and linocut opens her audience to her distinctive vision of the world.
Frankie Morgan is attracted to art materials and processes which reiterate the presence of the artist's hand in mark making. She seeks to challenge the limitations of her mind with a strong practice of drawing and being open to new materials.
The slow process of painting an image in our fast world, can better draw attention to the sacred. Morgan believes the alchemy of turning the ordinary world into paintings can distil the inherent mystery of being alive.
Morgan's paintings hope to uplift and inspire her audience to reconsider the beauty and sacredness within the secular world.
