Stacey Pierce-Nickle
Exhibition 10 - 11 October 2015. Back to La Macina di San Cresci the artist Stacey Pierce-Nickle, from Tennesse to Chanti with her solo exhibition, Memory.
Graduate of the University of Kentucky, after years of focusing on Graphic Design, Stacey returned to her original passion; painting. Primarily utilizing acrylics, she draws from such influences as Degas, Klimt, Jaap, and even Sandoval intertwining their work into her own style.

Stacey's work has been in various national and international exhibits throughout the United States. Searching for a way to repay her success and serenity back to the community Nickle founded Diaries of Voiceless, a series of art therapy workshops for victims of domestic abuse. For her philanthropy, Nickle received an award for Arts That Make a Difference.
Her multi-layered paintings usually combine two things; a particular place that has great meaning to Stacey and a piece of nature. "The one thing that connects us all to the human experience (no matter what language) is nature. I integrate my love of travel, nature and introspection of the human soul to create a multi-layered experience in each painting" Stacey says.
Combining reality with fantasy, she uses the negative space of the nature to pull out instead of cover over. One of the beautiful things about this process is she never know what the end product will look like; they reveal what they want to reveal.
The title, Memory wants to be, in addition to the key to the exhibition, a tribute to Cesare Pavese and the concept of "memory" he expressed in the famous phrase: "We do not remember days, we remember moments. The richness of life lies in memories we have forgotten".
