Rachael Madeline was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio.  She has always been passionate about her art, and after graduating from Boardman High School in 2001, she left home to pursue her studies in art at Ohio University.  During her years in Athens, Ohio, she discovered printmaking and worked as an apprenticed printer for her professors and visiting artists.   Rachael also worked through college as an assistant at the Trissolini and Seigfred Galleries on campus.  She later interned at the Kennedy Art Museum in Athens, Ohio, where she worked to digitally catalog the museum's extensive print collection.  She earned her BFA in 2005 with a Certificate in Women's Studies.  Throughout her career as a student and artist she has remained active in the professional printmaking community, attending conferences and workshops around the country.  For three years she served as a workshop assistant at Frogman's Print and Paper Workshop, held annually on the campus of University of South Dakota in Vermillion.  Ms. Madeline went on to do her graduate studies in 2005 at Clemson University in South Carolina.  During her second year she studied abroad in Genova, Italy for a semester where she travelled and studied architecture and art history through Clemson University's Daniel Center.  She completed her MFA in 2007 at Clemson, where she currently resides.  She has received numerous fellowships and travel grants, and had her print & photography work published.   Rachael maintains an active local and national exhibition record, working from her home studio.  She is currently employed as the adjunct professor of art appreciation and history at Tri-County Technical College.
